I am an early career stained glass conservator, who is passionate about the UK's stained glass heritage. Before making the jump to conservation, I previously worked in administration, after completing a 1st class BSc in Philosophy and Physics at the University of Leeds. I graduated from the MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management in 2025 with distinction. Since then I have worked full time at Auravisions in Saffron Walden, developing my practical skills and professional knowledge. As well as conservation, I am also interested in the creation of new glass, with a focus on historic design, natural forms and material re-use.
I am actively involved in the stained glass community and have been a committee member of the Institute of Conservation (ICON) Stained Glass Group since September 2024, taking up the role of Secretary in April of the same year, moving to Publications Officer in 2025. It's been a privilege to work collaboratively alongside the other committee members, and our 2025 conference at Canterbury, "Removed, Remodelled and Relocated," was a fantastic success.
Outside of glass, I enjoy a variety of crafts such as print-making, crochet and creative writing. As a self-taught coder, I have coded this website from scratch. I also enjoy languages, I speak ok French, a little German and a smattering of Latin. I have a particular passion for polar exploration history and would love to visit the Arctic one day!

Stained Glass Worker
I work as part of a small team to conserve and restore historic stained-glass. Most of this work is carried out in the studio: such as cleaning, edge-bonding, dismantling, glazing and painting. Site work also plays a significant part in my role, including removing windows, cleaning in-situ and reinserting windows, alongside their ferramenta. In this role, I executed a conservation project from start to finish for a series of nine vandalised Arts & Crafts panels, from removing the windows from the church to fitting them back in after they had been fully restored.

Work Experience
During a week's work experience at the studio, I worked on the Mayer of Munich windows from St Mary's, Lochee. Alongside the studio team, I worked to clean, edge-bond and repair panel leads; I also practised my quarry glazing.

Archival Conservation Volunteer
Working alongside the resident archive conservator I was trained in basic preventative conservation techniques such as appropriate document handling, basic archival cleaning techniques and storage techniques for a variety of archival materials, including large scale documents.

MA Placement
Working on the medieval glass of Cologne Cathedral was an absolute treat. During this placement I cleaned and repaired a 13th century clerestory panel, painted some tracery pieces for the new Helena window and conducted a small research project into medieval lead construction.

MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management
As part of a career change from administration, the MA was the start of my love affair with stained glass. My research interests includes material culture and late-Victorian/Edwardian stained glass; my final dissertation, which won the Nicholas Barker prize, looked at the relationship between glassmaking and stained glass in the Arts and Crafts period.

Damaged Books and Bound Archives: Practical First Steps
While considering a career change to conservation, I enrolled on this day course to gain a better understanding of conservation as a profession. The course included identification of different types of damage and recognition of the causes, plus simple steps for minimising damage, understanding appropriate treatment options and decision-making for remedial treatment.

The Wolfson Scholarships in the Humanities are prestigious awards and recognise only the most excellent postgraduate researchers with outstanding academic records, granting them full funding for the duration of their degree. My research proposal, working title 'Breaking the Slab Glass Mould: Women Stained Glass Artists in the Arts & Crafts', was selected out of 130 applications.
